Hello there! We are still enjoying the good weather conditions here in Eyjafjörður. The weather was calm, the sea mostly flat and it was a beautiful day!
We spotted 20+ Humpback Whales on each tour in our fjord today!!! It was quite a show, many of them were swimming in pairs or groups. We even saw a maximum of five Humpback Whales together at the same time.
We spotted whales all around us, near and far, in the area between the green buoy and Hjalteyri. We even had some extremely close encounters! Some of the whales just came up directly in front of us or next to us, passing our boats calmly as we were able to have a good look at them!
As we arrived in the area south of Hjalteyri on our morning tour, we were greeted by 11 Humpback Whales within the first five minutes of spotting the first blow close to us! Wow. We loved this day and are super excited about our recent whale sightings!
In the afternoon, we also saw one Minke Whale by the green buoy as we were heading north in the beginning of the tour.
What a fantastic day!
