Dolphinately fantastic first day of spring!! Even in Iceland we only celebrate 1st day of Summer (April) and 1st day of winter (October) today we really felt a breeze of spring in the fjord. It was warm day and almost all snow has melted away on the streets of Akureyri. We sailed out all the way north of Hrisey and the fjord was flat as a mirror. We first spotted a small pod of harbour porpoises and stopped to take a look but they disappeared really quickly and before everyone went out we couldn’t see them anymore. We sailed out a little further and had a beautiful dolphin show! The pod was about 20-30 individuals of white-beaked dolphins and they were very curious and acrobatic. It was a tour of great encounters and we can’t wait to go out there tomorrow!
