We visited the fjord in a classic tour at 9 and 13 today. It was such a beautiful and sunny day with amazing views on the mountains. We stopped a few times when we spotted several pods of harbour porpoises. Those little cetaceans can be difficult to observe but the surface being completely flat we could spot them a few times. Close to Hjalteyri a passenger thought that he saw a minke whale. We waited but we could not find it. We saw many interesting birds, razorbills and guillemots showing their amazing diving ability, fulmars gliding in the wind sometimes at a few meters from our heads. We gave complimentary tickets to our passengers hoping that next time they will be luckier and be able to see the whales.
