Hello all! This early morning we sailed out over still waters and under a clear sky. Even though the sun seemed determined to shine its light on us, a big dark cloud followed us everywhere, threatening to come pouring down on us, with a few sprinkles here and there. But truth be told none of that mattered, because it is officially official: there are now five different humpback whales in Eyjafjörður. The latest addition: Sirena. The spots on her fluke make her recognizable even at a distance. And the best news is that it seems to have joined the other individuals for the open buffet this fjord provides. On every tour we met at least three of these whales. Their different characters really shine through, day after day! And even though they seem to have moved up north and past Hjalteyri (contrarily to the majority of this month's sightings), they appear to be happy together. You know what they say: sharing is caring!
