Hey there! So… once more we could confirm that whales don’t mind the weather, because what a WHALETASTIC day we ended up having today! We sailed once more into Eyjafjörður, from Akureyri on this cold and wavy Sunday. But it looks like the super cold wind from the North brought us lots of whales! Because today we had 5 Humpback whales in the fjord!!!! And, on top of that two of them were new flukes in the fjord this year. We found the whales just between Svalbarðseri and Hjalteyri, and it was pretty funny because we were not seeing anything until we saw the 1st Humpback. And after that, they wouldn’t stop popping up everywhere like mushrooms after the rain. We only stopped the rib boat and let them approach us it was unbelievable. And just at the end, we were also joined by a very curious Harbour porpoise who came so close to the rib we could see it swimming just under the surface. I think, at least for me, it has been the best day so far this season.
