Hey there! Today we had a nice Icelandic summer day a bit cloudy but still warm enough and very clear visibility. During all tours, we have had a great deal of Northern Gannets flying around (with some young ones) as well as Arctic terns. But most importantly 3 Humpback whales!!! And this time we know who they were. Just before Hjalteyri, we have been able to enjoy the sight of our friends “Sirena“ (our shy fluker, only showed us the dorsal fin today), “Right Hook” and “Amigo“(in order of appearance in the pictures above). And you may think how do we know that? And the answer is thanks to all the pictures we are taking we can use this method called Photo identification, hence we are able to tell them apart by the shape and markings of their dorsal fin, but also thanks to the unique pattern of black and white they have in the under part of their fluke! How AMAZING is that!!!
