Good afternoon! We sailed out on a rainy and windy fjord today, but lucky for us our whales don’t mind the weather! We saw Harbour Porpoises alongside our boats as well as several Humpback Whales and many different birds.
The first Humpback Whale we encountered was just after leaving Akureyri, we were still quite close to town and it was a beautiful start of our whale watching tour! We spotted more Humpback Whales on our way up the fjord and eventually ended the day with a tail slapping Humpback Whale! It was spectacular to see and this particular whale put on a little show for us, which was a great way of wrapping up the day.
Even with the wind and some rain on our tours today, everyone was able to wear our overalls and enjoy being out on the water, watching whales.
We are excited to see what we get to experience tomorrow!
