Whale hello there! We sailed off from Akureyri harbour on a very cold Monday morning, but despite the cold, we had ideal conditions for spotting a mirror-like sea surface in Eyjafjörður. and it was a very nice ride because we had a lot of very cute Harbour porpoises popping around like crazy until we reached Hjaltery where we found a very sneaky Minke whale. After seeing the minke surface a few times we continued sailing off in search of bigger cetaceans and we were very much successful because just East of Hrísey island we found ourselves not two but three Humback whales!!! And even though today these humpies were not feeling like fluking much one of them BREACHED! So I would say it was a pretty whaletastic day. But the cherry on top was S of Hrísey island where very unexpectedy we found also three Atlantic puffins, and because they are a very uncommon sight (they only come ins¡sinde the fjord whenever we have winds from the north for some days, like this week) everyone was very very happy.
