When we sailed out for the morning tour the water was very calm and there was a lot of sunshine, giving us amazing views of the fjord and its snow capped mountains. After about 20 minutes of sailing we encountered a minke whale, a smaller type of baleen whale. The minke seemed to be feeding, moving a lot and making it hard to follow. After sailing further out we encountered a humpback whale that we have seen for the first time yesterday. The animal appeared to be resting. It only surfaced for one breath and after swam very slowly under the surface before coming up for another breath. In the afternoon conditions had changed, we still had sunshine but the wind had picked up and it was very choppy. We encountered the minke whale again but due to the white caps it was even harder to follow. We did manage to get some good looks and on our way back even saw it breaching in the distance several times.
