Hello all! Happy first day of summer! Today the sun rose hiding in between clouds. Even tough it seemed eager to shine its warmth on us on this solstice day, the cloud barrier hanging low over the mountain tops was just too thick. The southern winds and unexpected rain didn’t stop us from enjoying this day out on Eyjafjörður though. Happiness came to us in the shape of a fluke, over and over again. It was a blissful day, spent among four different humpback whales, just southeast of Hrísey island. The biggest star of them all was Barnacle Stinson, our favorite lazy fluker, that kept approaching Hólmosol and causing jaws to drop with every surfacing event. Our guests were just blown away by these perfect encounters, and we danced and cheered all together to the sound of blows all around.
