Good afternoon everyone! As we sailed out on our tours today, the clouds were hanging low in the morning, but we had flat sea. The wind picked up a little bit in the afternoon, but the sun actually came out as well.
It was a beautiful day out on Eyjafjörður altogether with truly special whale encounters. We saw a Minke Whale lunge feeding just by the green buoy. While sailing further north, we saw plenty of Puffins and were greeted by a big pod of White Beaked Dolphins, swimming all around our boat as well as jumping out of the water. A bit north of Hjalteyri, we spotted a Humpback Whale, that put on a real show for us and breached twice!!! What a view!
We also saw a Minke Whale and two different Humpback Whales on our afternoon tour, where one Humpback Whale stuck around our boats for a long time, constantly resurfacing and even checking us out while swimming close to our boats. What a beautiful day!
