We sailed out with beautiful conditions blue skies and sunshine. The water was flat, almost like a mirror, making it very enjoyable to be outside and enjoy the beautiful fjord. In the morning tour we encountered a Minke whale south of Hjalteyri. To be able to see Humpback whales we had to sail much further north, we encountered an individual north of Hrisey we saw the individual twice and then it disappeared. However, on the way back we also found a Humpback whale south of Hrisey.
In the afternoon tour the wind had picked up and the sun had disappeared. We encountered the same Minke whale north of Hjalteyri, we also managed to find one very tricky Humpback whale south of Hrisey that had been taking very long dives. We were able to see it twice before we had to go on our way back.
