Whale hello there! This morning we had strong northern wind, which fortunately calmed down in the afternoon. We even had some sun shining in our faces on the afternoon tours!
On all of our tours today we encountered one Humpback Whale by Grenivík, which stayed in the same area throughout the day and was calmly surfacing over and over again. On the RIB Tour we were able to get a very close and good look at this individual as it came up for a breath close to our boat!
In the afternoon, we were able to spot the three Northern Bottlenose Whales close to Svalbarðseyri again. They showed the same surfacing behavior of the recent days with one of them resting on the surface while the other two of them swam and resurfaced in the area around it.
We are curious to see what we will be able to spot on our tours tomorrow and are hoping for some more sunshine in the next days!
