Weather: Mild Southern wind - minor northern swell - clear skies
Today we made our first encounter just South of Hjaltery, the small Minke Whale that has been seen in recent times. It was surfacing quite strange, just three breaths followed by a quick dive every time. We did, however, have the whale approach quite close. We then continued sailing and eventually stopped around mid to North Hrisey. Here we saw many Humpback Whales, approximately 20 or so. They were not diving for very long, only 2 to 3 minutes and the whales were fairly spread out. There was a couple small groups, the same from previous days, but most of the whales appeared to be new flukes.
