We sailed out into a windy fjord today with some swell and sleet. But sailing out was definitely worth it!
Just south of Hjalteyri, we encountered at least eight different Humpback Whales! They kept resurfacing in the area around us and we were able to see them come up for their breaths numerous times! We had many beautiful and close encounters, some of them surfacing really close to our boat or going for their deep dives right in front of us.
It was incredible and we were happy to see all of these Humpback Whales near and far, even up to five of them surfacing in a similar direction at the same time.
On the way back, we also spotted Harbor Porpoises.
We cannot wait to sail out again tomorrow!
