Today was a calm, but cold day with overall good weather and sailing conditions.
We spotted the first Humpback Whale south of the green buoy! This was already exciting, since had just started sailing out into our fjord. We approached the area and stopped our boat to wait for the Humpback Whale to resurface. And it sure did with a BREACH! Unbelievable and it was very close to our boat!
We could hardly believe our eyes. What a fantastic way to be welcomed by the whales today!
In this are we ended up encountering two Humpback Whales swimming mostly together.
Further south, we could see another blow!
We sailed out a bit further north though and encountered plenty of Harbor Porpoises and three different Minke Whales north of the green buoy!
What a fantastic day out on the water.
