The weather today was fairly cold, a little snowy, but very calm! So we sailed out in good conditions.
Just as we reached Hjalteyri, we spotted two flukes in the distance indicating two deep diving Humpback Whales.
As we waited for them to resurface, we saw three more Humpback Whales a bit further south of us! This meant, that we had saw five Humpbacks in the area, one pair of two swimming together as well as the group of three. They surfaced frequently and eventually joined each other. All five Humpback Whales surfaced super close to our boat several times, we could hear their breaths and watch them so well as they proceeded to come up for a number of breaths before going down for their deep dives one after the other! What an encounter!
Everyone on board got very excited and we are looking forward to our next tour!
