Today was an exceptional day. Not for the weather tho. The sky was clear and the air was brisk. Moderate south wind did make our faces numb but it didn’t matter.
South of Hrisey we encountered a small group of Humpback Whales, possibly 5-6, which then started lunge, or maybe even bubble net feeding. I didn’t see any bubbles but the sea was quite rough. Still, this happened right next to our boat. Then the group split up in 2 and 3 still feeding. We had lots of time to see them since they spend most their time at the surface.
This was incredible to watch up close, and also the first time for myself to witness this.
