Good afternoon! We sailed out today in rather cold and snowy conditions but ended up having quite calm weather as we sailed out further north.
We were rewarded when we spotted the first blows just north of Hauganes and as we approached carefully, we saw that the blows are from two Humpback Whales. These two Humpback Whales were swimming together and diving at the same time over and over again. They swam calmly and stayed in the same area the whole time. We were able to have some close encounters, as they came up for their breaths just by our boat several times! It was absolutely beautiful!
We had a great time watching these two Humpback Whales today. What a fantastic afternoon to be out on Eyjafjörður!
