Good afternoon! Today, we sailed out in cold, but overall good weather conditions with a little wind.
We sailed out all the way to the island of Hrísey and kept scanning the fjord with our eyes and binoculars. Following the code of conduct, we never use any technology, such as sonars, during our tours to find the animals, because that can be extremely harmful for the whales and can damage their hearing. We always use our trained eyes to spot whales during our tours here in Eyjafjörður.
Unfortunately, we did not encounter any cetaceans during our tour today. While we are always trying our best, we constantly have to remember, that we are looking for wildlife on our tours and that we are here in nature, which is never predictable.
Of course all of our passengers were offered complimentary tickets in this case. We are looking forward to welcoming them on board with us again for free in the future!
