Good afternoon! We had a beautifully calm day in our fjord. We sailed out into Eyjafjörður today with great conditions and visibility!
South of Hjalteyri, we encountered one Humpback Whale! What a nice surprise. So we did not have to sail out far as we spotted this whale behind our boat already. It really is always worth it to check the water surface all around us!
This Humpback Whale was calmly resurfacing over and over again in the same area. It even came up close to our boat a few times! So we got to have a super good look at it! It was just stunning to see and hear the whale, when it resurfaced so close to us.
We are excited to sail out again tomorrow and to see what we can spot then!
