Whale hello there!
Today turned out to be an amazing day in our lovely Eyjafjörður. We departed from Akureyri in a rainy morning a chill breeze, but still with a mirror like sea. Overall it was a day full of life. But what a surprise when we found one Humpback Whale just passed Hjalteyri. In the afternoon we decided to go a little bit further and just next to Grenivík we found the most playful Minke Whale circling all around us and even surfacing 5m from the rib! And then only a little bit further north, just South East of Hrísei, BAM, all of the sudden we were surrounded by 2 Humpback Whales surfacing next to each other and then opposite, and then together again! It was simply amazing! But the cherry on top was a small group of extremely cute Harbour Porpoise surfacing very very close to us.

So to sum up the count of the day we ended up with 1 Minke, 3 Humpback Whales and a bunch of Harbour Porpoises.
