Now we’re back with some typical Icelandic weather, low clouds and moderate northern wind. But that doesn’t hold us back to go out sailing and find some treasures. And so we did. South of Hrisey we were stoked to see lots of White Beaked Dolphins jumping like there’s no tomorrow, and even following our boat surfing waves behind us. After Leaving those fellas we encountered 2 Humpback Whales, just east of Hrisey. Even though conditions were a little tricky, we still got some great views of them. One actually came very close and we had a good look at its fluke. The highlight of all sightings today happened on the evening tour where we spotted a breaching whale and he was not only jumping right in front of us several times but also got very curious checking us out from every side of the boat. Not long after we spotted 3 more Humpback whales, actively feeding in the area, followed by flock of birds. Once again a lovely day with great success.
