Another fantastic day in Eyjafjörður!
We sailed out in great and calm weather conditions today. The sea was completely flat in the morning and the wind picked up a little during the day, still leaving us with good weather conditions to sail out.
Our highlights of the day were definitely the breaching and the pec slapping of several different Humpback Whales that we got to witness both in the morning and afternoon!
This morning, we encountered at least four different Humpback Whales east of Hrísey!
In the afternoon, we spotted one Humpback south of the island. During our tours today, we also saw Harbour Porpoises as well as plenty of birdlife, such as Puffins or Northern Fulmars.
We had incredible encounters with the Humpback Whales today, they came up close to our boats and we were able to listen to their breaths. We are still excited about the encounters we had today!
