Today our fleet left Akureyri on a very dark sky completely covered in fog, yet with a completely mirror like sea looking straight out from a scary movie. all the boats sailed slow to avoid missing any sightings, and even though one of our boats unfortunately finished the tour with no sightings… Our smallest vessel Konsull found 2 Humpback whales just South East of Hrísey one of them even breached 5 times. And the second one came so close to the boat we could see the whole body of the whale just under the water. But that was not all because on the way back to the harbour just outside of Dalvík they also spotted a fast swimming Minke whale.

Our ribs found a third humpback whale just South of Grímsey and our biggest vessel Holmasol, found a very playful Minke whale just South of Hjalteyri.
