Oi readers, check a load of this.
Couldn´t ask for a better day, water like glass and blue as blue can be skies. On our tours today we saw so many Harbour Porpoises that i started to get bored of them, too many to count. They´re hard to miss when the water was this smooth. Just south of Hrisey we were gifted our first encounter, a Minkie Whale feeding. We didn´t get to see it too much because these guys are so sneaky, but, it did lunge right out of the water exposing the whole front half of the body on the underside, this very much took me by surprise and then we never saw it again, typical. It was a bit further before we saw anything else, but, north of the island we found our first Humpback Whale. It was quite a small individual but it still showed off all of its great anatomy, including ROSTRUM. On the 1400 tour we happened to find another Humpy, but a lot further south just north of Hjaltery and it appeared as if had just made its way into the Fjord. This individual was here last week quite south into the fjord and it appeared as it it was on its way back to its favorite spot.
Can´t complain.
