We sailed out in good and mostly calm conditions today with only a bit of wind around noon, but plenty of sunshine throughout the whole day.
During our tours, we encountered two Minke Whales north of Hjalteyri as well as two Humpback Whales east of Hrísey! We saw them all surface several times and even saw them up close, when they surfaced close to as well as on all sides of our boats!
We also spotted a very special visitor in Eyjafjörður today. A Sei Whale! How incredible is that? This was such a fantastic sight, we were extremely excited, as this whale species is rarely seen here!
We feel so lucky with our encounters today, we saw several cetaceans during all of our tours and we are already excited for tomorrow.
