Hello
Strong winds coming from the south made sailing a little more challenging for sure, so our Express tours got cancelled unfortunately, but we still managed to go out on our morning classic tour. There was a short weather window that we used to sail out. The waves were actually fairly soft compared to other days that we had. The sun came out every now and then which made the day quite nice actually.
As you may know, we never know what is going to happen or what are we going to see out in the fjord. And today surely was a day with a fantastic and very rare encounter here far inside Eyjafjördur, just half an hour outside of Akureyri. 2 massive dorsal fins popping out of the water at our 3 o´clock, got the heart pumping in all our crew members. 2 male Killer Whales were hunting close to our boat, most likely for small fish. We stuck around them for about 20 min and then moved around for only 5-10 min to find one Humpback Whale just south of Hjalteri.
Amazing day with again lots of excited people and a special visitor in our fjord.
