I wonder how many times these blogs have started with ´Whale hello there´. Awful joke.

It has been raining all day, however, the winds have completely dropped and we have had a day of flat seas. While sailing out we did get a little saturated but lucky enough all of our encounters today happened to be in between the clouds, and some encounters they were. Just after Hjaltery around Rauðavik we found not 1, not 2, not 10 but 5 Humpback Whales. We got very close… Not only this, but also a very calm Minkie Whale surfacing several times near the boat that didn´t just run away as soon as I get my camera ready like they normally do. The real highlight though was the double rainbow we saw almost making a full circle as it started right next to the boat and looped back around, probably the strongest i´ve ever seen. As a colour blind man rainbows aren´t my strong suit but I can safely say i saw every colour. But no pot of gold. I was just waiting for two whales to jump up underneath and high five mid air to make the perfect picture.

Text and pictures: you guessed it, it´s Mac… AND some sweet shots from Jacob

Departures of the day: Classic - 0900 & 1300. Express - 1400
