Salutations kind sirs,
I sit here eating my ice cream, on this wicked cold day, thinking what an absolute corker. We sailed out to around Hjaltery and found a serious number of whales. Safe to say we crashed the Humpback Whale party. It was difficult to keep count but I would estimate between 7 and 10 individuals, at least 7 for certain on both the morning and afternoon tours. The seas were incredible flat in the morning and we had some very close encounters with a band of 4 whales all surfacing and diving together. It started to rain a little in the afternoon, but, if you really think about it the whales are in the water so us being being wet makes us even closer, kinda. We sat engine off, in the rain and fog, with the whales surfacing all around, sometimes close sometimes far. This is my favorite type of tour.
