We had a fantastic day in Eyjafjörður! We sailed out in cloudy, but overall good conditions, with a little swell.
This morning, we encountered three different Humpback Whales by Hjalteyri.
In the afternoon, we spotted two of them by Hjalteyri again. Further north, we spotted a pod of White Beaked Dolphins by Hauganes and had super beautiful encounters with them! They got very close and playful with our boat! It was just amazing!
As we sailed a bit further, we additionally saw five more Humpback Whales south of Hrísey! We had incredible encounters. We got to see the Humpback Whales near and far and two of them were even swimming and resurfacing together! Some of them came up for a breath super close to our boat, passing in front of us before lifting their tails and going for a deep dive! Just beautiful!
