Blog Alert
I´ll keep this short and sweet. The weather has been very nostalgic for me today, it had a London on sea feeling. As we were sailing out this morning we were treated to an unexpected encounter with a Humpback Whale with came out of the water right next to the boat as we were cruising. This is a constant reminder of the risks when sailing in waters populated with cetaceans and the reasons to stay vigilant while at sea. This whale was just around Hjaltery and stayed there all throughout the day. On both morning and afternoon tours we also sailed out further to Grenvik were we encountered another Humpback both times, different individuals each time. One of these guys was the infamous, the mighty, the one and only Bumpback Whale. The Bumpback then traveled further south to the same area of the first whale. Interestingly today this whale was fluking rather high whereas usually this whale tends to keep its fluke low, rarely giving away any amazing photo ID pictures.
