Another heartfelt hello to you on these bit cold but very calm and serene days. Windless mirror-like conditions with a very Icelandic atmosphere (read it as dramatic skies with the sun trying to shine through the clouds which creates an interesting lighting setup for photography) await you here in Eyjafjörður.
Honestly coming to see the wildlife these days with us is a really good shot. We have been seeing dozens of Harbour Porpoises all around the fjord. As far as I remember myself, there have never been so many around and of course, that means, that although they are quite a bit shy, there is always a bunch of them popping up super close to us. Just by Svalbarðseyri among those little rascals, there were also 2 Minke Whales, both feeding, surrounded by dozens of hungry birds. It was a cool sight. We took a little peek at this scenery and continued past the Green Buoy, where we found 3 Humpback whales. Perfect day so far.
