We experienced some mild to moderate wind from the South on today’s tour but for a change we had clear blue sky’s with good visibility.

Our encounters came in the area between the Green Buoy and Hjalteyri (a very common area and regular theme reading this sentence if you are a reader of this blog). Here spread throughout the area were 11 Humpback Whales. Many whales were familiar flukes however the 2 standout whales being both Max (Porcupine on Happy Whale) and Jubilee. There was a group of 4 whales together coming up very regularly in the same spot which allowed us to have some great encounters. On one occasion we even got to see 2 flukes in the air in the same shot, something that is quite a rarity; often we will see groups of whales but almost always they will dive one after another.
