What a beautiful day in the fjord! It was quite cold today, but we had absolutely great and calm sailing conditions and good visibility all around the area.
On our tour, we encountered three Humpback Whales north of Hjalteyri! They were swimming together, always going for a deep dive one after the other, sometimes lifting their flukes, sometimes simply arching their backs. One of these Humpbacks is Piccolo, which we can recognize for example by the unique fluke pattern.
Additionally, we spotted two Minke Whales a bit closer to Hjalteyri!
We had many very beautiful encounters with the cetaceans today, making it so worth it to be outside in the Icelandic winter weather!
