Another very cold day in the north of Iceland. The weather conditions were calm, though, making it a beautiful day and as always so worth it to sail out into our icy fjord!
After we broke some ice on the way out of the harbor, we could sail into the fjord. On today’s tour, we briefly spotted a pod of Harbor Porpoises south of Hjalteyri and encountered three Humpback Whales swimming together just outside of Hauganes! We had stunning views of the whales resurfacing together after short deep dives. They proceeded to take a few breaths in a row and then lifted their tails high in order to dive deep, one after the other every time. Very beautiful to see!
We also got a glimpse of the sun today - which has recently been a bit of a rare occurrence here, making it extra special.
