Now the wind has changed direction to north. Fortunately, thanks to our sheltered position in the fjord, we did not experience strong wind today. There was some clear sky coming through also.
Today was a combination of Whale watching and a scenic cruise. We knew the 2 Humpback Whales from the previous day, were still in the same area, Pollurinn. So we set sail and slowly went south into the harbour and it didn’t take us long o find them. we spent about 40 min with the two of them and then ventured onto our little scenic trip through the fjord. Luckily the weather was good so we could see. On the other hand it was fairly chilly outside, therefore most people went to get a hot drink at our bar to warm up. We start heading back and spent another 20 minutes with the whales, and we had some really very close encounters. One whale came up right next to the boat and I swear, if one of the passengers would have leaned over just a touch more, the spout of the whale would have blow their hat off, that’s how close.
We also saw a curious little Harbour Seal looking at us plus 2 Harbour Porpoises (not very curious).
