The sunshine has finally returned to Akureyri!
We are so thrilled to go out this morning in almost glassy conditions. The sun made it’s first appearance in over a week on the fjord. Spotting the whales was much easier with no waves so we were able to see Minke Whales right away north of Svalbardseyri. We also enjoyed visiting a sleeping Humpback a little closer to the Green Buoy. Further north we saw another Humpback as well as another Minke that was surfacing slowly, giving us a good view of its rostrum and dorsal fin.
On our tour in the afternoon, we had wind from the north and moderate waves. Under the flock of birds, a group of Harbor Porpoises was feeding and we also saw our whale friends Humpback Whales on our tour.
A wonderful day behind us and we can't wait to see what kind of whale friends we will see tomorrow:-)
