Today’s cold wind created smaller waves in the fjord, but we still had fine conditions to sail out.
During the tour today, we spotted one Humpback Whale north of Hjalteyri.
This Humpback was already seen on yesterday’s tour in a similar area and today we got to see this individual feed very actively! It kept resurfacing after very short deep dives, came up for one breath and immediately lifted the tail for a deeper dive. Then, it would resurface with a full mouth and repeat the same behavior many times. We got to watch this whale super well as it kept coming up close to us over and over again. Absolutely amazing! We were mesmerized watching this Humpback feed all around our boat.
