Finally, we were able to sail out again after a few really stormy days in all of Iceland!
We sailed out into a cold and snowy fjord, but the weather cleared up along the way together with the visibility.
North of Grenivík, we encountered one Humpback Whale! We had several nice and close encounters with this whale, before it started to move quite a bit in between the breathing sequences. But towards the end of our tour, we had another very close encounter when this Humpback surfaced close to us! It’s as always simply amazing getting to spot these cetaceans in their natural habitat!
Later today, we also spotted one Humpback Whale in Pollurinn, the harbor of Akureyri. Maybe it will still be there for our tours tomorrow! We are excited and can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
