Today we set sail on a lovely day. You could clearly see that spring is on it’s way with the snow melting and sun shining behind the clouds. The temperature was around +7°C when we started our tour, but the temperature dropped as we got a brisk, fresh wind blowing our way. Despite the wind the sea was moderately calm, making the sailing a lovely experience.

We went ahead all the way to the north end of Hrísey, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. The mountains slowly showing their true colours underneath the snow is a wonderful sight to see. It is yet another sign that spring is finally coming our way. It is also nice to see the birds flying around Eyjafjörður, showing us that the fjord is never truly without wildlife.

Despite our tireless efforts, as it was all hands on deck when our lovely passengers joined the search, we didn’t see any cetaceans today. Although it was disappointing not seeing any of our wonderful sea creatures, we always have the next day. The fjord keeps on giving with it’s beautiful nature and landscape, so we have all the trust in the world that tomorrow will give us another great opportunity to witness our friends first hand another day.
