Today, we set sail with the temperature around -2°C, no wind in sight, and the water as calm as a lake. The sunshine was a welcome companion in the sky, making it a perfect day for sailing. The tranquility of the fjord was almost surreal, and it felt like everything had aligned to create an idyllic moment.

As we sailed, we saw birds resting on the water or perched on the floating ice, all of them seemingly enjoying the peacefulness of the weather. It was a reminder of how beautiful and still nature can be when it decides to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the world.

Our journey took us north of Hrísey, and we carefully searched the waters for signs of whales. Even though we took our time and made the tour a little longer than usual, we didn’t spot any whales today. Despite our efforts and the excitement of both myself and the captain, nature decided to play by its own rules today.

Sometimes, days like this are a reminder that nature has its own rhythm. Even when we hope for a sighting, the creatures of the fjord choose to remain hidden. It’s all part of the experience, and tomorrow is a new day. Nature will always surprise us, in its own time.
