Today, the fjord was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the world around it in stunning clarity. The serene waters gently lapped against the sides of the boat as we sailed through, surrounded by pieces of ice floating peacefully in the water. Birds were resting on these icy surfaces, creating a breathtaking scene that felt like something straight out of a dream. It was a true spectacle of nature at its finest.
The temperature hovered around +2°C, but the sunshine cut through the chill, creating a perfect atmosphere for our tour. It felt like the kind of day where everything aligns – the peaceful fjord, the crisp air, and the warmth of the sun making it an unforgettable experience. But nature had even more to offer.
As we sailed along, we didn’t just spot the birds, but also seals basking on the floating ice, taking advantage of the peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect start to the day, and we couldn’t help but feel excited about the possibility of even more natural wonders as we ventured further.
Our search for whales took us north of Hrísey. We sailed slowly, carefully scanning the horizon for any signs of life beneath the surface. Today, however, nature was elusive.
Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t spot any signs of whales or other cetaceans, which was disappointing but still a part of the adventure. We searched right until the last minute, all the way back to the harbor, hoping for a glimpse of something magical. Unfortunately, nature kept its miracles hidden from us today.
But Tomorrow is another day, and perhaps the fjord will reveal more of its wonders. After all, that’s the beauty of nature – sometimes it surprises us when we least expect it, and other times, it leaves us yearning for the next opportunity to witness its magic.
