Sunday, 9 March

Great start in the day with sum sun in the face. There was some light south wind deep in the fjord but the further we got out the glassier it was. To be fair we went fairly far out today, but this gave us the opportunity to enjoy the views of the mountains around the fjord.
We have heard about a whale in the area so we stopped and waited to see if and where it pops up. After a tense 5 minute wait, there it was. The blow of a Humpback Whale. We saw the whale on the east side of Hrisey and he came up pretty much in the same spots. It was the same Whale we have seen yesterday. On our last encounter, he came up very slowly right next to our boat. The water quality is absolutely fantastic at the moment, therefore we were able to see the whole whale underwater. Amazing!
Great last look and then back to Akureyri with a hot chocolate in the belly.
