Another beautiful day in Eyafjorður! Weekend begins with blue sky and full sun but freezing temperatures reaching -24 degrees in some areas in the fjord. We left the harbour on time and crushing through the ice we headed out north. It took us a longer while today to find a whale but eventually we found a feeding Humpback whale just outside Hauganes. The whale was very active and few times popped up very close but didn’t stay at the surface for a long time. We were lucky to see him feeding using different techniques, sometimes rapidly pushing his head outside of water, sometimes rolling on the side while feeding. Incredible show to see! It was one of our new ones in the fjord and we don’t have a name for this one yet so if you have any good ideas on how to name a whale - please share! As the whale was very skinny - one of our passengers came up with an idea of naming the whale ‘Skinny pete’ after one of characters from ‘breaking bad´series, do you think it’s a good name?
