What a tour! Today we really took the time in the fjord and it was so worth it as we came to see 3 Humpback whales together! The conditions were perfect, beautiful sunny day in Akureyri and almost no wind in the fjord. It took us over an hour to reach to whales and at first we spotted just one blow in the distance, as we came closer two more whales appeared just in front of us. The captain turned off the engines and two whales were keep coming towards us, clearly curious they were rolling in the water and coming under the boat, appearing on the other side it was just stunning! The third whale came close only once and was keeping the distance afterwards but it was the only fluking whale, the other two were just staying close by the surface constantly and just going for very shallow dives around us. We could see their white flippers from the surface. We just can’t wait to go back out there tomorrow!
