Hello there! Today we had sunny, but a bit colder weather with calm waters here in Eyjafjörður.
We were extremely lucky today, since we already spotted the first blow south of Hjalteyri! This blow was soon joined by more blows and we saw several Humpback Whales swimming in the same area, in total we counted at least five there, some of them were swimming very close to each other.
After being with these whales for a little while, we decided to sail further north because we saw plenty of blows north of us. We soon encountered three more Humpback Whales just outside of Hjalteyri, of which two Humpbacks kept surfacing together right next to each other. We got to watch whales near and far, had some close encounters while seeing Humpback Whales all around in Eyjafjörður. We saw at least 10 Humpback Whales close up on our tours today, but we still kept seeing more blows further north.
What a great time to go Whale Watching in Eyjafjörður! We are already excited for our tours tomorrow!
