Hello everyone! We had another amazing day of whale watching today with good conditions! It was a bit windy in the morning, but the wind mostly calmed down in the afternoon. Apart from that we had great visibility and sunshine!
On each of our tours we saw 10-15 Humpback Whales as well as two Minke Whales on our afternoon tour!
We sailed out to the area between the green buoy and Hjalteyri and had stunning encounters with the whales there. We saw tail slapping and the open mouth of a Humpback Whale poking out of the water. The Humpbacks were calm and resurfaced plenty of times around our boats. We again saw many of the whales swimming in pairs or groups of three and even had an extremely close encounter with Ískona in the morning, when this Humpback Whale surfaced so close to our boat that it was almost not visible from the guide box! Just wow! I am stunned from the beautiful encounters of today and am so excited for the tours tomorrow here in Eyjafjörður!
