What a spectacular tour today! The weather was cloudy and windy, in the beginning of the tour we also had a little rain. But the whales in Eyjafjörður definitely made up for that!
We encountered a total of 15 to 20 Humpback Whales in the area north of the green buoy. We had several nice and up close encounters and even saw a tail slap! This was already very exciting but the tour got even better after that. We sailed a little further north because we spotted more blows around Hjalteyri. As we encountered more Humpback Whales there, we saw big splashes of water south east of our location. We saw three BREACHES in the distance and decided to sail closer to that area. Then we saw three more breaches, this time the breaching Humpback Whale was much closer to us! This was stunning and simply incredible! We saw some of the very best today.
It was such an exciting afternoon for us, we cannot wait to be back on the water again tomorrow!
