Good morning all! We sailed out on this beautiful snowy summer day, from Akureyri harbour. But since we know whales don’t mind the weather because they are already wet… We ventured into Eyjafjörður. And BAM just passed Svalbarðseri we found our first Humpback whale surfacing just at our 9 o'clock barely 20m from the boat. And what a show the Humpback was super chill surfacing all around the boat and showing us its fluke. After a long while, we said goodbye to this Humpback and went to scout the area further ahead where we found two different whales! First, we encountered a different Humpback whale, but moments after we also had joining us a very sneaky Minke whale. It was a whale of a day, and the cherry on top was when the whales decided to feed under a big flock of Long-Tailed ducks so all of them flew away just when the whales were coming out of the water! Amazing!
